About

My life is as unlikely as my success, but fuck it... I'm here.

Abraham Woodliff wasn't born to be a writer. In all honesty, it didn't appear like he was born to be anything at all.

Born on September 20, 1991, Abraham Orion Woodliff spent the first 10 years of his life homeschooled by his illiterate mother. Instead of learning the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic, he learned something else: the art of observation. And luckily for him, life in the Bay Area provided a lot to observe.

Despite starting school late, Abe quickly learned how to read, and found a natural interest in literature. By age 16, he started writing poetry and short stories.

After years of writing, Abe finally got his work published in legendary San Francisco webizine, The Bold Italic. However, after creative differences, Abe left the publication and went on to create Bay Area Memes in an attempt reach a large audience while maintaining complete creative control. To his surprise... it worked. Bay Area Memes has 200,000 followers split between Facebook and Instagram.

Since then, Abe teamed up with Broke Ass Stuart, released a book with Terran Empire Publishing, and has written nearly 300 articles, many of which have gone viral.

If Abe's local success proves anything, it's this: This country is a casino. No one really knows anything. If you want something, just try, and when you fail, keep trying.
